Description

Every iBooks Edition contains new and exclusive content that you can’t find anywhere else.

When Christine Blacksworth’s larger-than-life father is killed on an icy road in Magdalena, New York, a hundred miles from the “getaway” cabin he visited every month, she discovers a secret that threatens everything she’s always held to be true. Her father has another family that includes a mistress and a daughter. Determined to uncover the truth behind her father’s secret life, Christine heads to Magdalena, prepared to hate the people who have caused her to question everything she thought she knew about her father. But what she finds is a woman who understands her, a half-sister who cherishes her, and a man who could love her if she’ll let him. The longer she’s around them, the more she questions which family is the real one.

Customer Reviews

Predictable but engaging

There were many predictable elements (e.g., hypocritical wealthy folks, hard- working middle- class folks, etc.), but there were enough twists and surprises to keep me engaged. The main character is intriguing cus she's never afraid of the truth, no matter how painful it might be to her. Good summer read.

Loved it!!!

Great book, well written. I hadn't ever heard of this author before, will gladly purchase other books!

This book.

This book kept me hooked and interested till the end!
Im reading this on my ipod, right? I highlighted and wrote notes because i HAD to write what i felt so it wouldnt distract me from the plot. The foreshadowing details and the interesting plot line is a 2-for-1 deal! A must-read book
