A Newbies Guide to Aperture 3

The Essential Beginners Guide to Getting Started with Apple's Photo Editing Software

Minute Help Guides

This book is available for download with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device, and with iTunes on your computer. Books can be read with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Description

Aperture 3.2.1 is the ideal photo-editing program for the casual or professional photographer who needs the power of Photoshop without the hefty price tag or the learning curve. Since Aperture was first introduced in 2005, Apple has added a host of technical features, including RAW editing, brush adjustments and curves to satisfy advanced users, while streamlining the intuitive, user-friendly interface that makes it easy to upgrade to Aperture from iPhoto. The launch of Aperture 3.2.1 also includes a bevy of iPhoto-friendly image management features, along with iCloud and photo stream support, making Aperture a dual program for image processing and file management/photo sharing.

This guide includes step-by-step tutorials for image editing, image management and photo sharing, along with screenshots documenting each step in the process. From retouching photos and organizing libraries to sharing images and printing professionally designed photo books, we’ll help you get the most out of Aperture.

Customer Reviews

Ok

This book is nice but it is very basic and short. It pretty much just covers what is in the apple tutorials.

Really Trivial Content

Title should be "Lamers Guide to Aperture 3" as the content is REALLY lame!

There is no depth to the content. It basically describes the features available with emphasis on the differences between Aperture 2 and Aperture 3. There is simply no depth to the book. It often states that "you can do X" without giving any details beyond "push this button" with no explanation of how to accomplish a given edit -- just how to invoke the editing tool.

The book doesn't even provide a complete overview. It leaves out the vast majority of the features.

Maybe worth $0.99 but NOT worth $2.99.

P

Not a Newbie but found this to be a great resource. It is written in plain and simple terms that are easy to understand! Thank you!!
