A Shot in the Bark (A Dog Park Mystery)

Book 1, Lia Anderson Dog Park Mysteries - Lia Anderson Dog Park Mysteries, no. 1

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Would you recognize a serial killer if you met one?

Talked to one every day? Artist Lia Anderson doesn't, and neither does anyone else who frequents the Mount Airy Dog Park. When Lia's boyfriend, Luthor, dies violently, Detective Peter Dourson is assigned to the case.

Peter penetrates the close-knit group of dog lovers with the help of Viola, the dead man's dog. The more he learns, the more he is convinced that someone is not who they seem.

As the investigation uncovers Luthor's secrets, Lia struggles to make sense of her feelings about Luthor and her growing attraction to Peter.

Meanwhile, a killer hides in plain sight and anyone can become a target.

Entertaining read

I love dogs with a passion, (I never had kids, just dogs) so I thought well, if the book stinks at least there are dogs in it! The book didn't stink - I found myself loving the characters at the dog park, even Catherine, because I know someone like her (though in my life, I avoid her like the plague!) I also really liked the way this book ended. I thought I was about to be disappointed and wham - I wasn't at all. I think I'll be moving on to the next book in this series. One more thing - the killer in this story is a true psychopath. Many times it's hard to get that across in writing, but this author did an awesome job of making this nutjob sufficiently creepy!

Murder in bark park

I liked the story but the ending was not good. The true murderer was not disclosed. Very disappointed.

A Shot in the Bark

Truely enjoyable. I was held in thrall reading this story. I thought I knew who it was, right down to the epilogue. Thanks for holding my interest. Just wish I wasn't left hanging.
I am an avid reader, about 3 to 4 books a week.
