A Wicked Pursuit

A Breconridge Brothers Novel

This book is available for download with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device, and with iTunes on your computer. Books can be read with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

In Isabella Bradford’s enthralling new trilogy, three noble brothers—London’s most scandalous rakes—are about to do the unthinkable: settle down. Harry Fitzroy, Earl of Hargreave, is the first to meet his match and lose his heart . . . to a lady who’s not all what he expected.
As the eldest son of the Duke of Breconridge, Harry Fitzroy is duty-bound to marry—and marry well. Giving up his rakish ways for the pleasures of a bride’s bed becomes a delightful prospect when Harry chooses beautiful Lady Julia Wetherby, the catch of the season. But a fall from his horse puts a serious crimp in his plans. Abandoned by Julia before he can propose, the unlucky bachelor finds himself trapped in the country in the care of Julia’s younger sister.
Harry has never met a woman like Lady Augusta. Utterly without artifice, Gus is clever and capable, and seems to care not a fig for society. After a taboo kiss awakens passion that takes them both by surprise, Harry realizes he’d almost given his heart to the wrong sister. While London tongues wag, he’ll use his most seductive powers of persuasion to convince the reluctant Gus that she belongs with him—as his equal, his love, his wife.

From Publishers Weekly

Jan 27, 2014 – Bradford opens a Georgian trilogy, set in 1768, with this cloying bit of spun sugar. Charles “Harry” Neville Fitzroy, fourth Earl of Hargreave and eldest son of the Duke of Breconridge, decides to finally cease his wanton London ways and settle down in marriage. Miss Julia Wetherby, the loveliest maiden of the ton, is his chosen bride. On a whim Harry travels to her home in Norfolk, ring in hand, certain she’ll all but leap into his arms. Instead the coquettish Julia insists on a silly game of pursuit on horseback. The game ends with Harry thrown from the unfamiliar steed, breaking his leg and his pride. The airheaded ingenue panics. Fortunately, Augusta, her practical younger sister, takes immediate charge of the situation—and hapless Harry—while Julia flits off to London, unable to cope in a crisis. The ensuing romance between Gus and Harry is entirely predictable to everyone except the lovers, showing little promise for the series.

Harry & Gus's Story

"A Wicked Pursuit" is my first Isabella Bradford novel, but it will not be my last. I didn't know what to expect at the beginning. But I was pleasantly surprised to find heated love scenes, engaging characters, and a story that I didn't want to end.

I can't wait for the rest of the series to be published.

A Wicked Pursuit

There is nothing wicked in this book. In fact it is wickedly boring. I do not recommend spending hard earned money on this book at all! Nor spending valuable time reading it.
