Book 3, The Old Kingdom

This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.

The apocalyptic conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Abhorsen series—an epic fantasy experience not to be missed.

The Abhorsen Sabriel and King Touchstone are missing, leaving only Lirael—newly come into her inheritance as the Abhorsen-in-Waiting—to stop the Destroyer. If Orannis's unspeakable powers are unleashed, it will mean the end of all Life. With only a vision from the Clayr to guide her, and the help of her companions, Sam, the Disreputable Dog, and Mogget, Lirael must search in both Life and Death for some means to defeat the evil destructor—before it is too late. . . .

From Publishers Weekly

Feb 16, 2004 – PW called this "a riveting continuation of the story begun in Sabriel and Liraed. At once an allegory regarding war and peace and a testament to friendship, this is a thought-provoking fantasy." Ages 12-up.

One of the best fantasy series of all time!

One of the best fantasy series of all time!

It's okay

Having read the first two books, I realized after getting through this third one, that they are all basically the same story, with the characters switched around. More or less the same things happen. But you know, if you liked the first one, then you will probably like the others. Just don't expect anything different.

I kind of think Garth Nix could have stretched the story to some new angle, but i guess once you find a formula that sells, safest thing is not to mess with it. I don't think these will be classics, but the ideas are interesting and creative enough.

I bought them all and enjoyed them. I don't want this to sound like a negative review. Its just a review.

The best book

This is probably the best book that I have ever read, and the only one that could even compare is The Mortal Instruments series.
