Accidentally in Love
Book 3, Friends First
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
Fans of Jill Shalvis and Susan Mallery will love Laura Drewry’s warm and humorous new Friends First romance, a sexy romp about a good cop and a bad girl playing hard to get.
Ellie Palmer and cops don’t mix, and getting pulled over by Officer Brett Hale—again—doesn’t help. Neither does being forced to take a safe-driving course with him. Brett’s by-the-book attitude leaves Ellie ice-cold, and his rock-hard body won’t change that. Still, the more time she spends with the guy, the more she finds herself warming up to his unexpected charms.
Even though Brett comes off like a boy scout, Ellie has sparked something he wants badly enough to get him to rethink his past mistakes. But when her ex shows up, Brett makes it his mission to keep Ellie safe in the here and now. His gut tells him the guy’s trouble, and Ellie must agree, because she doesn’t complain when Brett pulls her close. To keep her safe, though, he’ll have to choose between breaking her heart . . . and breaking the rules.

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title.
Ellie Palmer hates all cops and Brett Hale is no exception. Brett is a good person, and they have many friends in common. She has had bad experiences in her past where she felt no help from the RCMP, and so she lumps Brett in there too.
Brett understands all of this and is secretly trying to solve her "un-solveable" cases. To make matters even more difficult, she is again being stalked by her ex. He has gotten out of prison and thinks she wants him back. Not in this lifetime. To get her ex to make a mistake Brett's boss assigns him to play Ellie's girlfriend. This should bring him out of hiding.
Ellie has so much going on she feels like a leaf in the wind. Her mother makes a surprise visit, her ex is stalking her again, Brett is "playing" her boyfriend, and more! Little does she know that having a friend like him could be the best thing she ever gets. Can love come from such a great friendship and catch you unaware? Would they ever forget the kiss they shared?
Their banter is clever and fun. The book itself is very heartwarming and sweet. If you already fell in love with the Friends First series, you know what I mean. You will also be happy to note that the gang is back in this book too.

not all cops are bad really!!
To say Ellie Palmer doesn't like cops would be being really nice, she hates them is more like it. Only problem is she has a lead foot and has run ins with one cop repeatedly he seems to have it out for her and his last time pulling who over is no exception to that rule. Problem is now she is forced to interact with a cop because of her ticket, and then part of her past comes and faces her and she knows she has no where to turn to or does she. Brett Hale has one nemesis speeding and has no problem pulling people over who do it. His moto is safety first. He is not sure what Ellie's problem is and wants to know why she has it out for cops its not like its a secret that she doesn't want anything to do with them. When Brett is faced with solving a case involving Ellie he knows he need to prove to her not all cops are bad and not all cops have it out for her. This is a really fun book it starts off strong and stays that way till the end of the book. Ellie and her craziness is fun, the interactions she has with her crazy friends is no exception to the rule. The chemistry between the characters starts off not even there really and builds up to amazing its not a slow process but prefect. I think the only thing I can say about the book I did not like was the book could have done with out so much of the cursing. Over all this book is fun and really enjoyable. The pace is steady and you find yourself having a hard time putting it down.
Loved This Sweet, Funny Heartwarming Romance!
Loved this story! This was such a sexy, sassy, funny romance read. Loved the characters and the storyline as well as the witty banter and the slow build from enemies to love, which really pulls at your heartstrings.
Ellie Palmer moved to Newport Ridge to get away from her past, she has a new business, new friends and a new house that keep her busy. Ellie has a sassy mouth, is quick witted, a sassy attitude and has a lead foot. She is constantly getting speeding tickets from Officer Brett Hale and when he pulls her over when she is going 20 km per hour over the limit he also informs her that her license has been suspended for three months and she will have to take a driver safety course and that he is the only instructor in the area. Ellie doesn't like or trust cops due to past experiences and Brett reinforces this dislike.
Brett Hale is very serious about his job and it isn't his fault that Ellie can't go the speed limit. It is hard for him to focus on anything else when she looks at him. He is worried how they are going to handle being on the same beer league for the summer.
When Ellie's' ex boyfriend shows up in town and he starts to stalk and threaten her, Ellie's knows she is in deep trouble. But not one to contact the police due to past experience she is not happy when her friends contact Officer Hale. To keep Ellie safe Brett steps up, and acts like he is her current boyfriend to keep close to help protect her. But with all this time together Ellie is forced to see Brett as more than just a cop. Will this help the police get their man? Will Brett and Ellie's friendship become more with the hand holding and kisses for the public and their friends to believe their make believe relationship? You will need to see how this turns out. I highly recommend this story. Loved it!
