Act Two

Book 2, Magnolia Steele Mystery - Magnolia Steele Mystery 2

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Book Two in the USA Today bestselling Magnolia Steele Mystery series by New York Times bestselling author Denise Grover Swank.

For as long as Magnolia Steele can remember, the past has had its hooks in her. Her time as a Broadway actress in New York City was an escape that ended in public humiliation, but now that she’s back home in Franklin, Tennessee, she’s feeling the grip of the two incidents that stole her innocence. The first was the disappearance of her father when she was a teen, who left home for a meeting and never came back. The other incident...well, her memories have returned, but it's best left where it belongs—in the past.
Hoping for closure, Magnolia decides to look into her daddy’s cold case. Though the town gossips are convinced he ran away with his client’s wife and money, she has always suspected foul play. Talking to a few of his old acquaintances seems harmless enough—until the man she’s arranged to meet turns up dead. There’s evidence someone murdered him to keep him quiet, and she realizes that whatever conspiracy her father was mixed up in is far from over; it’s entering its second act.

If Magnolia keeps digging, she's not sure she can trust her own momma to help her, let alone her new friends and the police detective who’s eager to woo her, but after years of running, she’s ready to stand her ground.

Some Secrets Refuse To Stay Hidden

Assembling coherent thoughts for a review while your heart’s still pounding is a challenge. Before reading ACT TWO, I couldn’t imagine loving Magnolia more than I did after CENTER STAGE. I’m fully capable of admitting when I’m wrong, so let me just say it:

I. Was. Wrong. There, are you happy? I said it.

Within just a few weeks, Magnolia went from being a Broadway star to being a suspect in the murder of Max Goodwin. She barely has time to recover from that incident before she stumbles onto yet another dead body. It’s impossible to accept coincidence … especially when she’s digging into her father’s disappearance no matter how many people tell her that “Some things are better left in the past.”

Magnolia Steele truly lives up to her name. She’s strong and shoulders the weight of all the secrets she carries. However, she still possesses an air of vulnerability that makes her relatable. She’s the kind of character you know you’d want her on your side, and I can’t wait to see where she takes us in future books. For a girl who arrived home friendless and humiliated, she has a way of drawing people to her.

The entirety of ACT TWO swept me up from the beginning, and the pages flew. I’m already counting down for the next book and speculating what’s to come!

It just keeps getting better

Oh man, where to even begin. Act 2 picks up right where Center Stage leaves us. There is still the chemistry between Brady and Magnolia. The tension between Lila and Magnolia, and the hatred between Roy and Magnolia. More mystery and more dead people. I'm not going to go into specifics because I'm afraid that if I do say something, it might give something away.

Let me narrow it down for you. This is an amazing book written by a very talented author. She knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat, reel you back in, only to cast you out again because of the twisty turns that she puts in her books. Act Two is filled with drama, heart stopping moments and a mystery within a mystery. You will not be disappointed at all!

Secrets should stay hidden

Act Two is the second book in the Magnolia Steele Mystery Series. It was amazing! Center Stage lead us on emotional roller coaster where Magnolia has to return to place she fears the most, but the also where the people she loves the most are. Despite wanting to keep her past behind her memories keep coming back. In Act Two, She chooses to focus on the truth of her father's disappearance and learns not many people like this idea. Who can she trust to help find the truth? Brady the hot Franklin PD detective who wants more then friendship or Colt the hot player who dabbles on the other side of the law from time to time..... This a hard choice for a girl who trusts no one.... Can she get the answer
