Interesting
Read many accounts Alexander, both non-fiction and fiction. This was a condensed version of what was an epic in the attempt to establish a rulership of the known world and beyond. He ended up being a demented alcoholic faced with his own mortality which he couldn't accept. History portrays his mother as a villain which she probably was and he may have inherited her schizophrenia from her. Little is known about Hephaeston aside from being a close companion of Alexander.
A good primer this is.
The Story of Alexander
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, it covers everything from what is known about Alexander in his early days, all the way to his last. How his great empire came to be, and the chain of events that eventually led to its demise.
