Description

From bestselling romance author Lori Wilde comes All Out of Love, the sizzling second book in her Cupid, Texas, series, set in a town where every wish for love comes true.

Millie Greenway and her friends have tried for years to keep the Cupid legend alive in their hometown, but she’s not getting much help from her granddaughters. Lace Bettingfield knows the legend is bogus. As a teen, she left a letter at the Cupid statue and got nothing in return but humiliation. But now the guy she dreamed of is back in town, Lace begins to wonder if the tale might just prove to be true.

All Out of Love features the humor and heartfelt emotion that fans have come to expect from the author of The First Love Cookie Club and A Cowboy for Christmas.

From Publishers Weekly

May 20, 2013 – Bestseller Wilde fumbles her second Cupid, Texas steamy contemporary romance (after Love at First Sight). In high school, plump Lace Bettingfield wrote a private letter declaring her love for jock Pierce Hollister. Her cousin stole it and printed it in the school newspaper, to Lace s eternal shame. Twelve years later, Lace has a Ph.D. in plant science and is running the town s botanical garden. Pierce is now a pro football player, but an injury to his leg cost the Cowboys the Super Bowl and may have ended his career. He returns to Cupid to recuperate and help his ailing dad run the family ranch. Still feeling humiliated, Lace rebuffs his charm, so he sets out to seduce her. Pierce deals with sibling rivalry, his sick father, and disability; after town funds are embezzled, Lace is forced to ask celebrity Pierce to help with a fundraiser to keep the garden open. The two overcome their awkwardness in no time and fall repeatedly into bed. Obscure puns about botany and football slow the pacing of this sex-heavy, romance-scanty story.

Customer Reviews

Fun & Romantic!

I love contemporary romance novels...if the romance is not too easy. I always shudder when the leads in a book are having hot monkey sex in the first chapter. Work for it a little! That said, I enjoyed the banter between Lace and Pierce. He was her childhood crush, Lace was trying to protect her heart from another rejection. He had never had to work for a woman's attention until he met Lace (again).
This is the second book in Lori Wilde's Cupid, Texas series-- and I'm loving her less than perfect heroines! When I enjoy a book AND learn something, I feel like I've gotten a bonus. This was a refresher on that long ago biology (botany) course & I learned some things about football that I never knew.

Cute story

I don't normally write reviews but this is a really cute story. I went back and forth about downloading it and finally decided to bite the bullet. I am glad I did I really enjoyed it.

Fun reading, just what I wanted

I read to relax. This book did that for me. Fun and enjoyable book.
