Publisher Description
When a buttoned-up professor and her unbuttoned daughter fall for the same irresistible man, a delightful, subversive comedy begins. . . .
Life isn’t easy for single mother Ally Hughes. Teaching at Brown, her class load is huge and her boss is a menace. At home, she contends with a critical mother, a falling-down house, and a daughter who never misses a beat. Between taking care of the people she loves, teaching full time, and making ends meet, Ally doesn't have time for a man. She doesn’t date. She’s not into flings. But then she meets Jake, an eager student, young in years but old in soul, who challenges his favorite professor to open up her life, and her heart, to love. It doesn't work. In fact, his urging backfires.
Ten years later, Ally's still single. Jake reappears and surprises her in a brand-new role: He's dating Ally's now-grown daughter. In this hilarious, heartrending tale, Ally is finally forced to concede (not only to herself) that an independent, "liberated" woman can still make room in her life for love.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Moulin's debut novel is a fun, lighthearted, and sexy romp guaranteed to please. Ally is a professor at Brown and a single mother who had her daughter, Lizzie, while in college. Ever since, Ally has obeyed all the rules, except once. One weekend, when her daughter is visiting her grandmother, Ally has a fling with Jake a student in her class, 10 years her junior. At the end of the weekend she sends him away, urging him to live his life and not to tie himself down so quickly. Ten years later, Jake reappears, only now he is a superstar actor, and dating Ally's adult daughter. Jake has never forgotten Ally, and she has certainly never forgotten him; she can't believe he still has feelings for her after all this time. While Lizzie struggles to figure out a potential career, Ally realizes that there is never a good time to let love into her own life and must make a decision she never expected to have to make. Moulin's writing background is in television, and it comes across immediately in the snappy dialogue, the sweetly comical conflicts, and the keen sense of mother-daughter dynamics. Though readers might find Ally and Jake's romance unrealistic, it's overcome by the exciting escapist nature of the story. Lizzie is the quintessential self-absorbed millennial, who redeems herself in the end, much to the reader's delight. Moulin fast-paced, feel-good romp is a winner.

Suprisely Funnly
I admit I wasn’t sure, if this was going to be a good read. I finished it in less than 24 hours. I couldn’t put it down. It’s funny, steamy, smart and a beautiful love story. It reminds you that someone you never expected, can come take your breath away. It was a really great read. I wanted a little bit more from the ending. But, I get it. Loved it! Must read!
A quick, fun romp of a read
Funny, sexy, smart and full of heart. I sincerely hope a movie adaptation (a faithful one) is on the way. Diane Lane, Molly Quinn, Ellen Burstyn, Robbie Amell.
