Book 1, Alpha
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
The first time it happened, it seemed like an impossible miracle. Bills were piling up, adding up to more money than I could ever make. Mom’s hospital bills. My baby brother’s tuition. My tuition. Rent. Electricity. All of it on my shoulders. And I had just lost my job. There was no hope, no money in my account, no work to be found. And then, just when I thought all hope was lost, I found an envelope in the mail. No return address. My name on the front, my address. Inside was a check, made out to me, in the amount of ten thousand dollars. Enough to pay the bills and leave me some left over to live on until I found a job. Enough to let me focus on classes. There was no name on the check, just “VRI Inc.,” and a post office box address for somewhere in the city. No hint of identity or reason for the check or anything. No mention of repayment, interest, nothing…except a single word, on the notes line: “You.” Just those three letters.
If you receive a mysterious check, for enough money to erase all your worries, would you cash it?
The next month, I received another check, again from VRI Incorporated. It too contained a single word: “belong.”
A third check, the next month. This time, two words. Four letters. “To me.”
The checks kept coming. The notes stopped. Ten thousand dollars, every month. A girl gets used to that, real quick. It let me pay the bills without going into debt. Let me keep my baby brother in school and Mom’s hospice care paid for. How do you turn down what seems like free money, when you’re desperate? You don’t. I didn’t.
And then, after a year, there was a knock on my door. A sleek black limousine sat on the curb in front of my house. A driver stood in front of me, and he spoke six words: “It’s time to pay your debt.”
Would you have gotten in?
It turns out $120,000 doesn’t come free.
How do I tell you how much I loved this book without giving anything away? There is so much I'd like to tell you, but I can't. This book has so many secrets, and I loved it! "Him" as I'll call the Alpha man who stole my heart, is absolutely wonderful. I want to meet him and make him mine. Holy Hell is he a great lover and so, so sweet.
This book is unique and I loved the plot. It's also one of the hottest books I've read in a very long time. I loved everything about this book. The characters were so well written you can't help but love them all, even Harris aka Harry. One of my favorite quotes from the book is, "Hear this, Kyrie: As you learn to trust me, as you give yourself to me, so will I learn to trust you, and give you myself." Don't you just love it? His speech had me enthralled, he is articulate, brilliant, and smooth. That says a lot about the Authors writing.
I've read quite a few books by this author, but this one has to be my favorite. I loved every word on every page and didn't want it to end. I give Alpha 5 Stars!!!!!
Absolutely worth every penny
It's no secret that Jasinda Wilder is one of my favorite authors, and it's not just because she's become a good friend, but because she's an amazing writer who can pen a sex scene that seems to last for days. Alpha takes over every thought I've had about other books she's written. It's not the emotional heart-achy love story we're used to from Jasinda; Alpha is erotica in its truest form.
It delves into the mind of a dominating control freak, explaining the necessity of his actions and need for submission. On a personal note (and when are my recommendations not personal?), if I didn't already know someone who was a dominating person and know her tendencies, I would think Alpha was over-the-top and that people weren't really like him (and her) in real life. But knowing her and now having read Alpha, I know this personality type is absolutely true to life. [NOTE: I even showed her some of the passages from the book as I read, and it honestly had her freaked out that Jasinda was able to put her thoughts on paper.] The situation the characters are in are over-the top (summoning for her; billionaire; etc.), but his personality and controlling nature is spot-on. Then again, it wouldn't be a fantasy novel if the situation wasn't over-the-top.
Alpha is a Certified Favorite and absolutely worth every cent you pay because the return is hours of reading (and battery-operated) gratification.
I couldn't put this book down until I was done and I still wanted more. Hope there will be a spin off with Harris and Layla.
