That was the only word Cam Greer, the son of a wealthy media mogul, had ever associated with women. When he met Amber Murphy his senior year in high school, he felt like, for once, this girl loved him for him. When she pursued her dreams and left Cam behind, Amber not only crushed Cam's heart, she destroyed his future as well. He was left to start his life over, thinking the only woman that would ever truly love him was gone.
Cara Pratt has finally got her life on track. Ten years after watching her father literally walk out of her life, Cara has finally found happiness with a new stepfather and her high school boyfriend, Lance. Everything is going according to her plan, until a pregnancy test comes back positive. Once again, she finds herself watching the man she loves walk out of her life, taking her future along with him.
When Cam and Cara spot each other across the bar at Maggie’s Place four years later, neither of them are interested in starting a relationship. They're both a little unsure and completely untrusting. They try to fight the intense immediate attraction, realizing right off, the seriousness of their chemistry, but as hard as they try, they can't.
As fate pulls them together, will their mistrust push them apart? As the smoldering embers from their pasts come blazing to the surface, fears are uncovered that neither of them are ready to face.
I honestly don't know where to start with this review. I was speechless after I finished...emotional. This book had me right from the beginning. I was intrigued with them when I met them in Promise Me Always(Blake and Tessa's book). I knew they had a story and couldn't wait to read it. Let me tell you Kari doesn't disappoint with this book....5 plus stars!
"Fight for something or you will live for nothing"
Cam isn't looking for a relationship. He's broken because every girl he's been with has used him. They want fame and fortune because of his family name...his dad is a big media guy. But there was one girl who meant the world to him...Amber his high school girlfriend. She was his everything, but she destroyed him. She left and took his heart with her. Now four years later, he is starting over a new gig as a firefighter. One night out with the guys to celebrate, they stumble upon Maggie's Place and that's where he meets his match...his firecracker!
Cara is use to men walking out on her, her father left and her high school love Lance. The only constant supportive man is her step-father. He loves her unconditional and wants to make her happy. But to Cara...Men always leave. She is finally getting her life back in order. She won't ever give her heart away again, she can't handle to pain. She's broken, but she does a good job putting up masks to everyone. What she wasn't expecting was sometimes love sneaks up on you when you least expect it....
Cam and Cara are both broken and damaged from previous relationships. Will they survive or are the doomed from the beginning? They are drawn to one another and the chemistry between them is sizzling! "Don't think, just feel."
However, neither will let their walls down completely, they are scared. No Labels is what they agree too....but the heart has a funny way of sneaking in. When they finally start to really enjoy each other...BOOM the past comes back to haunt them in the form of Amber. God I hated her!!!! Will she wedge herself into their lives and ruin the beginning of a soulmate connection....
"You were never just a distraction firecracker...You were my redemption."~~Cam Powerful line....loved it!
This book had me crying, screaming and saying a lot of Oh No's!!! This book is brilliant! You will fall in love with both Cam and Cara. You will curse both of them and your heart will break for them. Emotional roller coaster of events and feelings. Ugh.... It's gritty, raw, gut-wrenching, undeniably sexy and beautiful. Take the Cam and Cara ride....hold on though it's bumpy.
Bravo Kari March! Fanfreaking Sensational, remarkable and amazing! Can't wait for your next book.

Left me speechless
This book is just wonderful! The characters, the story and the ending. I have laughed and cried and there were moments where I didn't think I could handle anymore upsets and drama. But in the end it all worked out. Couldn't put it down and hated that it was over. Loved that the story was original and something I hadn't heard before.
