(Ruthless People #3)
“Villains by Choice."
Betrayed. Melody is nowhere to be found, Liam is in jail, and the Callahan family is cracking, just as Avian Doers, the FBI Director and puppet master behind their downfall, planned.
But just because they’re down doesn't mean they’re out. To fight back, Liam and Melody will have to put everything on the line. The kid gloves are coming off, and no one is getting out alive. Nothing will compare to the reign of terror that is about to envelope the entire country. First they were Ruthless, now they are pure Savages. The end is here, and no one is safe…
Amazing ending to an amazing series!
Wow! This entire series will keep you on your toes. Loved the beginning, middle and ending. Could not put it down until it was finished. Can't wait to see what JJ writes next!
Bloody, Brutal, and Brilliant!
Each book in the Ruthless People trilogy has been outstanding. However, none more so than American Savages. Everything that started with Ruthless People and built in The Untouchables has finally come to a head in this book and it's bloody, brilliant, and unforgiving. The story is fantastic and gripping. It's everything I thought I wanted in the finale and more.
I wasn't sure how J.J. McAvoy was going to top The Untouchables. That book had so many twists I was almost afraid to turn the page to find out what was going to happen next. With American Savages, I knew things were going to get uglier but there was no hesitation. I threw myself into the book and didn't stop, even when I knew there was something horrible awaiting me on the next page. I read through my heart pounding, my tears, and my fear. I absolutely loved how the story started out, taking us into the past and giving us glimpses into a teenage Melody and Liam. That really set the stage for the story.
Liam and Melody are truly made of something else. I don't know if I admire their minds or fortitude more. Only those two could take the horrors that happened to them and turn them into something good for them. Whether it was Liam going to jail or Melody being kidnapped and then staying away from home, those two never lost sight of what was important: each other and family. I was surprised to see how romantic Melody was. Granted it wasn't in the traditional sense, with flowers and pretty words, but you could easily feel how much she loved Liam and Ethan, their son. I liked seeing the two grow stronger. I also loved how the story was told from multiple points of view. It allowed me to get as much perspective as possible, but it still didn't reveal too much, because I didn't see the end coming. I knew it was going to brutal and rough, but I had no idea how much.
There's so much more I want to mention but won't because I feel it could ruin the story and reading experience for you. The last half of the book flew by. Whenever you find the guts to sit down with this book, make sure you have plenty of time to read it undisturbed. It's the only way you'll get through this book. I have to give J.J. McAvoy props for once again taking me on an unforgettable journey with Liam and Melody. I've fallen in love with the Callahans and the madness that comes along with them. I've laughed at their triumphs and sobbed at their losses. I don't think I'll ever be ready to say goodbye to them or turn the page on their story. J.J. McAvoy is an author that needs to be watched and read. I expect greater things from her in the future. This series has set the bar high and I look forward to seeing how she meets the challenge.
Wish It Would Never End!!!
