Abbeville Press is pleased to present an e-book edition of Carter Ratcliff’s classic account of Andy Warhol’s life and career; this is the first monograph on the quintessential Pop artist to be made available in digital form.
Exercising a keen critical intelligence, Ratcliff traces Warhol’s dramatic rise from journeyman commercial artist to world-famous painter and proprietor of the notorious Factory. More than one hundred of Warhol’s works are illustrated in full color: the whimsical drawings of the fifties, the iconic Pop images of the sixties, and the ceaselessly experimental paintings and prints of the seventies and eighties.
A full apparatus, including artist’s statements, notes on technique, and a chronology, add to the reference value of this e-book. Convenient hyperlinks and multiple viewing modes allow readers to navigate seamlessly between the text and illustrations.
Carter Ratcliff, a noted art critic and poet, is a longtime contributing editor for Art in America and the author of several books on modern and contemporary art.

Great book for this format
A great book that could never have existed before in a digital format. I'd love to see more artist studies like this show up for my iPad. Bonus points for the sub-$10 price as well.
