Description

Art of Winter: A Photographic Essay by Julie M Covert is an exquisitely designed, multitouch eBook containing over 160 enthralling photographs, videos, and essays. This award-winning collection of images offers an unparalleled look into the beauty of winter.
It is for those who have a special affinity for winter and for anyone who cannot understand what the attraction is. Art of Winter is a feast for the eyes as it captures the fragile and fierce beauty of winter. Surprising plays of light and sculptures of ice are the reward for braving bone-chilling temperatures.
These images will captivate the senses and may even create a longing for those frosty mornings, when snow crunches underfoot and one’s breath can be seen. Praised by nationally respected photographers for its artistry, this unique volume will delight anyone with an interest in nature, photography, the Great Lakes, or who is awed by winter’s forces. Beautifully presented, this stunning eBook will delight anyone who loves winter and is for those who have not yet learned to love it.
Also available in hard cover. Art of Winter: A Photographic Essay received a bronze medal in the Great Lakes Region, Nonfiction category in the 2013 IPPY (Independent Publisher) Book Awards.

Customer Reviews

beautiful digital enhancement to already gorgeous hardcover

I bought the hardcover edition of "The Art of Winter" when Julie released it 2 years ago. I was impressed by both the stunning images as well as the high-quality production of the book itself. This digital edition iBook creates an entirely new level of enjoyment with the addition of video and the easy, straighforward navigation on my iPad. There is a video of the ice from underneath and another one of currents created by the heat of the sun moving the melting ice sheets. This iBook is a beautiful way to experience the winter of the Great Lakes in both images and words.
