Awakened by the Giant
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
Meet the Jor’gen Kindred. After leaving the main Mother Ship centuries ago to make a genetic trade with a massive race of people, they are thirty percent bigger than their ancestors. Which makes them 9 feet tall—giants to regular sized humanoids. Hundreds of years after the genetic trade which made them so huge, the Jor’gen Kindred have no more females and are seeking a new people to trade with--
All but Calden
Believing he doesn't need a female in his life to be happy, Calden moves to the Mentat Space Station to devote his life to biological research through cloning. The Station is ruled by a harsh taskmaster--an AI called FATHER who forbids any females. But Calden doesn't care, as long as he is allowed to clone and study as many specimens as he wants.
Then one day, the recovery droids find something new--the remains of a sentient human female and the ship she crashed in. Consumed by scientific curiosity, Calden gets special permission to make a clone of the dead woman--he doesn't know she will cause him to break the rules and risk his career and even death...when he falls in love with her.
Madeline Harris has no idea what's going on. She wakes up in a vat of green goo with her memories fractured, surrounded by the big, scary Mentats of the Station. Then a giant comes to save her. It doesn't take much for her to fall for Calden but she doesn't realize that the station is a hostile place for women...or that she could be in big trouble if the AI, FATHER, discovers how very much Calden cares for her in return.
Will they escape the Mentat Station in time to save Maddy's life? And will she ever forgive Calden for keeping deadly secrets from her?
You'll have to read Awakened by the Giant to find out...
Evangeline always does an amazing job when it comes to writing this series. Each book has been amazing. I truly loved this story.
Caden who was a Jor’gen Kindred had no faith no desire to find love. I found that sad. I love how no matter how much the kindreds at time loose faith that the goddess never looses faith in them.
I tried to put myself in Maddy’s shoes. I could not imagine being clone. If I ever found out would I be mad or thankful. I would like to think I would be thankful.
Caden and Maddy will have their challenges a head of them. I love how Caden is welling to meet those challenges head on for the woman he loves.
This was an awesome story a glad I got a chance to read the book.
Awaken The Giant - Kindred Tales
Awakened by the Giant: Brides of the Kindred - Evangeline Anderson
The Kindred species had run out of females and became genetic traders, bonding with compatible females throughout the universe. The Jor’gen Kindred bred with a race of giant people developing a mixed rate that is 30% larger than the norm. Now the Jor’gen have run out of females as well and have left on their mother ship to search for compatible females (bonding fruit included- an aphrodisiac that also
helps females fit the extra large Jor’gen anatomy).
One of the Jor’gens names Calden did not wish to pursue a mates life and chose to join a Mentat Science Station ruled by an AI called Father. Their rules are strict and many horrible, not only banning females but forcing all the species they study to have termination dates. This was heartbreaking on so many levels.
Calden has come across a human who was killed in a space accident and was given permission to clone her.
Madeline Harris wakes up confused on an alien ship horrified in a regent tank and mortified that everyone else on her ship was killed. Calden doesn’t have to heart to tell her at this time that she is cloned and the Father has forced him to put a termination unit in her as well.
As time goes by Calden and Maddie can’t fight the bond nor the sexual attraction between them. The whole storyline of their building relationship, sensual erotic well placed connections , exciting, dangerous thrilling need to escape and find help had me read this story in one sitting. It has all the feels, excitement, sexy romantic, suspenseful elements expected of Ms. Anderson’s excellent writing. It does not necessarily need to be read in order, has some great reunions with beloved characters on the Mother Ship and will leave you with a smile. Just don’t forget that Bonding Fruit!
Excellent Read !
Yes, Evangeline Anderson has done it again ! Romance and science blends perfectly in this romantic interstellar adventure. I’d recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18yrs old. Pages turn easily and romantic interludes sizzle off the page. Love always finds a way.
