Age is Just a Number.
Rebecca Martin has achieved most things one might hope to by thirty. She is a successful business owner, drives a nice car and is wrapping up the details on a custom built home on the lake. The only thing she is missing is someone to share her accomplishments with.
One man has never been far from her thoughts – Kade McMillian, but his return to town after far too many years of chasing his dreams couldn’t be more poorly timed.
With a younger man demanding Rebecca attention at the office, she has to decide between reconstructing a relationship from her past or diving in deep to something new and seemingly forbidden.
This is a serial - short story - part 1 of 3.
There is a cliff hanger and part II will pick up there! All parts are released.
**18+ Some cursing and sexual situations.
Look to the Past or the Future?
When you finally hit your mid thirties and you are beginning to see that maybe your life isn't headed where you thought it should. This book is definitely different from any other you will probably read. For once, it is about a woman name Rebecca who is successful with her own business; however, at the age of 34, she is beginning to think about marriage and babies. She can't seem to get her high school crush off her mind and compares every man to Kade even though it has been 16 years since he headed to Hollywood looking for something more. Rebecca has an upcoming intern working in her company named Jason. He is only twenty-two so even though she has some kind of attraction towards him, she won't allow herself to get past the age gap.
Jason comes by Rebecca's office to invite her out for drinks with other co-workers. She's hesitant about going and during the conversation, she mentions she needs to meet with a new contractor in the morning to get some things done on her new house. Jason volunteers to meet the new contractor with her so she doesn't get steam rolled. She ends up going with her business associate and good friend Parker for drinks. It kind of leads you down the path that maybe there could be more between them, but only wishful thinking. While out with her employees and Jason, Rebecca's thinks she sees someone who looks like Kade. Jason is making his play with words which gets Rebecca thinking about him very differently than an intern, but seeing Kade brings her past back. Will she give up on the illusion of Kade and give Jason a chance???
Baited Part 1
Rebecca has wanted her old high school best friend forever and she cant move past him thats until someone new comes into her life and shes just now noticing him. Which one will she want.....
I enjoyed this because the novel was about the characters and all of the sub characters. It made you feel that you really knew them or had met someone like them. They had their own reasons for doing what they did but, it wasn't written down blatantly and it might just jump up at anytime! And, their was a good amount of humor and flirting. I enjoyed the book.
