Adrianna Rossi is no stranger to the rigorous demands required of her body. Years of pain and determination make her one of the best. Olympic glory is the ultimate goal, and she'll do anything to achieve it. Even if that means leaving home to attend World Cup Academy of Gymnastics, a training center that serves one purpose—producing champions.
Perfection, precision, and dedication are required of his athletes. When two time Olympian Konstantin Kournakova is persuaded into training the young hopeful, he immediately regrets it. She doesn't come close to his high standards. As the relentless pursuit of her dream keeps her striving, a passion is ignited within him.
Kova's power and domination, coupled with Adrianna's fierce tenacity, reveal there is more for her body to learn. Every interaction can be misconstrued, but there’s no mistaking the darkening of his gaze, the lingering of his touch, or the illicit image of his bare skin pressed against hers. Integrity is on the line. One toe off the beam and their forbidden desires could ruin everything they’ve worked for, throwing it all off balance.
To say I have been waiting on this book that seems like forever would be an understatement. Lucia has been teasing us for over a year now. I was beginning to wonder if we would ever get this book. She was stressing so much over it being perfect and now I get it. I do. This is a book people are going to have to go in with a very open mind. They are going to have to forget or at least put aside things that are pushed into our brains about certain things being wrong. This is a forbidden romance. A romance that most people cannot even fathom in their brains.
First I want to comment on the fact that Lucia knows her stuff when it comes to the topic of gymnastics. The knowledge and detail that is in this book about the sport alone is a bit mind blowing to me as an outsider. I was an athlete but nothing even close to what these elite athletes are. The dedication, determination, and sacrifices bleed from the pages of Balance, much like the hands and whatever other body part of these athletes. This alone reminds me the characters in this book are in a league and world of their own when it comes to life in general.
Lucia's writing in this story was so well done that I forgot about the forbidden part of the romance most of the time. The only time I really thought about it was when it was mentioned. This shows true dedication to her craft. This is when I realized why it took so long for her to perfect this book. It had to be written with finesse in order for the story to come across the way she wanted it to and she hit it out of the park.
I guess I should talk about the characters. They are ALL well written. You find yourself loving them, hating them, wanting to shake the ever living life out of, and down right adoring them. And I am not talking just the main characters who I have a true love/hate relationship with. I am talking about every single one of them. The supporting characters in this book are just as much part of this story as the main characters. When an author is able to weave in the supporting characters to be such an integral part of the story and writing them in a way that it matters makes a story all that more great in my opinion. I think sometimes supporting characters are not given the credit they are due but Lucia wrote them so perfectly they are hard to forget and the story would not be complete without them.
I truly cannot wait to see where this series is headed. I was hesitant to read this first book but I am so glad I dove in head first and gave it an open mind. I will be recommending this one to anyone who wants something different. Something to make their brain churn. Something to make them look at the world a little differently because I assure you, I am now.
Oh my gosh I loved this book so much ! When I first first got this book, lucia was knew to me as an author so I was curious how I would like this book. Within 5 pages I knew I was hooked and I literally couldn’t put it down ! The tension in the book is so good and real you can almost feel it! It was filled with sexiness and so much drama ! I loved kova and Ria, and I can’t wait to see where the rest of the story goes. Lucia Franco is a fabulous author and people should know who she is !
LOVE this book SO MUCH!
Have you ever finished a book and felt like kicking yourself because it sat on your TBR pile for so long? Well, that’s me. Right now. After finishing BALANCE by Lucia Franco.
I don’t even know where to begin explaining the ride this book took me on. BALANCE is forbidden romance at its finest—a book that both had me questioning my morals, and savoring the ride. The relationship between Adrianna and Kova may be wrong, but I couldn’t deny that they weren’t completely electrifying together. Freakin’ Kova. I’d do anything he asked, willingly.
And Lucia’s writing is absolutely sensational. I couldn’t get over how easily it was to picture every layout, free hip circle, pike, and the other countless moves associated with gymnastics.
I’ve read so many books the past year—both old and new releases—and BALANCE is hands down one of my FAVORITE books EVER!
