A Guide to Building Basslines Using Common Chord Progressions
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
An educational book designed to give students a understanding of basic music theory and bass guitar technique necessary to improvise bass guitar lines in a variety of musical situations. Includes 63 tracks of audio (minus bass) for students to play along. Music examples are written in both standard notation and bass guitar tablature.
I'm a beginning bass player and this book is really helping me get off the ground! I love playing to the tracks, it's a big help to hear the bass and then have to fill in. Simple explanations, right to the point. Great!
Excellent book for learning/tying it all together. The material is presented in a practical and effective manner. Being able to practice the material with play along tracks is absolutely invaluable and motivational. Five stars for that.
The track play controls should be on the SAME page as the music score. It is incredibly annoying to have to flip back a page to restart the track. One star demerit for that. Pleeeeease fix it.
I love it!!!
I am playing bass since a short time. I still know Lynne from my good times in California. And I always thought that she is a good teacher. Well this book proofs how good she is. My playing improved in a short amount of time - and I understand now for what it's good. Lynne I really looking forward to your next book! Thanks again for making me with this book a better player.
