Ewan refuses to give up when he wants something, and he's decided Grace would be the perfect wife. Ewan is not an archetypal tough Highlander but a romantic, happy to spend time with his intended and hopeful about falling in love. Grace needs Ewan to protect her from an enemy bent on vengeance, but the threat is too absurd to be believable. Grace and Ewan are joyous together, but there is nothing riveting about this saccharine romance as it plods toward fulfilling every single one of Grace's hopes and dreams.
