This book is intended to provide the information to make informed decisions relating to potential solutions to reduce the risk of fire in buildings under construction, renovation or demolition. This will a comprehensive look at the problem, including a review of representative major fires across the U.S.; a gap analysis of existing systems that are intended to provide for fire safety; and a host of methods to fill the identified gaps. Those methods will be explored individually and in concert to identify synergies that can be achieved by layering the different options to gain more results for the money spent. The funding for this program was supported by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Assistance to Firefighters (AFG), grant award EMW-2016-FP-00393.
