A naked woman in my shower? Freaking great.
A virgin naked in my shower? Freaking disastrous.
My dirty hands don’t belong anywhere near innocent Isabel. I’m just a messed up commitment-phobic bodyguard and Isabel deserves better. But she isn't Isabel. A bump on the head has her convinced she's Julia. And Julia only wants one thing.
She wants me to take her virginity. I just want to keep her safe from the thugs who attacked her. I'll guard her body with my life but my willpower might not be as ironclad as my desire for a taste of her sweetness.
In a city synonymous with sexy, the hot men of Miami Security will always protect your back with very personal one-on-one attention…
Burn by Erin McCarthy
A great start to a new series!! Ryan works for his dad in the security business and if it wasn't for that, Ryan wouldn't even talk to his dad. Ryan comes home from work one day to find his stepsister, Isabel, using his shower, calling herself Julia. Isabel was found unconscious with a head injury and taken to Ryan for protection until Ryan's dad could figure out if she is in danger from some of his less than legal business dealings or not. Isabel has always been quiet and reserved, she has also been nursing a year long crush on Ryan, the knock to the head has helped make her bold and opens Ryan's eyes to look at her in a more sexual manner. Ryan and Isabel try to come to terms with their suddenly changing relationship and deepening feelings for each other while also dealing with the danger that seems to surround Isabel. There was a lot of emotional angst in this book, Ryan is dealing with abandonment issues and the fact that his dad is a jerk and while Isabel is almost too sheltered, she still understood what was going though Ryan's head most the time. I can't wait to see what happens next!!
Enjoyable lust filled fast read
Burn by Erin McCarthy is the start of a new series of books about body guards. It seems some people are having trouble as the main characters are step siblings, however their parents marriage, which lasted a year, took place when the "children" were in their 20's, they never lived together, and only met a handful of times. We get both points of view as the story shifts back and forth between his to hers. Lots of lust filled thoughts fill the book as we get to know both of the main characters, and watch them grow over a short period of time.
Received an ARC for honest opinion.
Great start to a new series by Erin McCarthy!
Ryan is shocked to find Isabel in his apartment, but what is most confusing is that she is in his apartment naked and taking a shower. She doesn't seem to remember anything like how she got a wound on her head or why she is now going by the name Julia.
Isabel has no idea how or why she is in Ryan's apartment, all she does know is that she feels safe with him and trusts him to find out what has happend to her and why.
What neither of them expects is the attraction that draws them closer and closer, but will her memories returning push Ryan away or bring him closer?
I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
