Capital Bride

Book 1, Matchmaker & Co - A Western Romance

This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.

Unexpectedly homeless, unwed mother Sarah Johnson has few options.  They could go live with her cousin William, but Sarah believes there’s something untoward about his offer and it leaves her feeling uncomfortable.  She's qualified to be a governess, but no one will have her because she wasn't married when she had her precious MaryAnn.  Matchmaker & Co could be her salvation as mail-order-bride to Mr. John Atwood.

Single father, John Atwood, is raising his daughter the best he can in the wilds of the Colorado Territory but knows he needs help.  No woman he knows wants to take on the raising of his daughter who hasn't spoken since she saw her mother brutally murdered during a bank robbery.  Can Sarah, John and their two daughters overcome their pasts and find happiness together?

Good story

This isa good romance but I found it too short. I would've loved to see the characters grow a little more before the book ended.

Wonderful Quick Read

Great story with romance, mystery, and murder. I liked the old west setting.

Stilted and amateurish writing. The author could use the help of an editor who can get rid of all the fragmented sentences. The too many (and seriously -much too detailed) descriptions of the two main characters having sex seemed an odd contrast to the sort of family-vibe of the story. It's like it's a book about this lovely couple and their little girls but the story was so boring the author felt the need to graphically describe their sexual activity every other page. Ms. Woolfe lost a big opportunity to create a much better storyline and ended up with a cheap, trashy dime novel.
