Publisher Description

Checking up on Daddy reveals a jubilant and endearing concept in literature for children ages two to four years. Checking up on Daddy was spawned by the "handoff" that many dads experience upon their return home from a long workday. For those who may not know, the handoff is the moment when tired Mom meets Dad at the front door to pass the child along. At the very core, the story embraces the magic of those fleeting moments one experiences with an infant before the next stage of childhood rushes in.

    Checking up on Daddy

I gave this book 4 stars -- before I had a son who could walk. Now that my son is walking, Checking up on Daddy deserves 5+ stars! Mr. Roth's illustrations are superb and his writing is fun! Can't wait to see what Mr. Roth comes up with next! If I was an editor or publisher, I'd hire Mr. Roth immediately. Hmmm, maybe I'll become one!

    Checking up on Daddy Rocks!

My son loves the interactive features. Especially the dancing baby video. So awesome!

    Checking Up On Daddy

Guttenberg's printing press finally marries Silicon Valley's software in this innovative, interactive book, which captures the love and frustrations of pursuing Daddy at day's end in wildly colorful images that talk and move. Especially appealing is a TV segment of breakdancing Baby and Daddy magically providing a unique 'on page' cinematic experience. Balm for a weary parent's eyes is the option of having Adam Roth do the driving with a charming audio rendition. Conversely, today's child will delight in the computer-like touch control of the action, which provides physical activity to reading. This is a dual audience book providing appeal for both child and parent. I'm not surprised that the author of 'Clifford the Big Red Dog' (Norman Bridwell) recommends this book so highly, so do I.
