You think you know trouble? Uh-uh. Meet Charlie.
Charlie is small, a bit stinky and old ladies love him.
He’s also a mischief-maker on an epic scale.
His parents despair and his sister’s had enough. Granddad’s medals are missing, there’s uproar by the pool. And why is Charlie wearing someone else’s underwear as a hat?
Seven stories, seven hilarious adventures for this new family hero.
Ideal for bedtime stories or newly confident readers. Because everyone loves a cheeky monkey like Charlie.
How did Charlie come to life?
I grew up reading brilliant sibling stories such as The Adventures of Jeremy James and My Naughty Little Sister. But antics that seemed outrageous back then just didn't cut it with my young children. So I invented Charlie.
Tell me about Charlie's family.
These stories are told by Harriet, Charlie's big sister. She's at that age when friends matter but family comes first and Dad's jokes are still funny (sometimes). It's important to me that Charlie gets into trouble because he's full of curiosity, with maybe just a dash of mischief: he's not malicious, or horrid. At heart, these are stories about a loving, slightly odd family and the type of out-of-control adventures that children and parents will recognise and enjoy.
Who will enjoy Cheeky Charlie?
They're short stories which makes them ideal to share with children aged 6+. But there's plenty in here for older readers too: a "grown-up", funny book that kids can read on their own.
