PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Once the most celebrated writer of his age, William Dean Howells (1837-1920) published Christmas Every Day in 1892. It is an unpretentious tale in which a busy father is beguiled by his young daughter to tell her a holiday story. Out of print for many years, the story was discovered by Richard Paul Evans, who used it in The Christmas Box. Evans writes in the introduction to this edition that, soon after his own book was published, he began receiving calls asking about Howells's tale. Illustrations by Gina DiMarco and John Lawrence.
