It began with Benny Hogan and Eve Malone, growing up, inseparable, in the village of Knockglen. Loved this book!
This book leaves me wanting more! I love the way she writes! Her characters are so believable, it's easy to love or hate them. Thank you for a job well done!
Adore this Book need the movie
I adore this book, when I read this book in the 9th grade in the hieght of heroin starvation look, I felt just like the main Character Benny, slightly chuby with wild curls that defied any attempt to contain the fluff. The feeling of being 2nd best to your prettier popular friend, and never deserving the attention of others. Benny's choices, her independece and desire to become something more than just what was expected of her was inspirational to me at that age. i Tunes when are you going to have the audio book available? Or for that matter the movie which was great and only marginaly different from the book. But in the end Benny's spirit and courage is the most amazing part of this book.
It's the person you know who tells long drawn out stories. You listen patiently wait for the point only to find out that there isn't one. And there are many characters to sort through but if you can't remember them, don't worry, there is no closure with any of them after over 700 pages.
