The stunning epilogue to the Submission Series
Did you want a pat little ending about Jonathan and I riding off into the sunset? Did you want flowers and stars? Man, I wish it was all soft filters and violins. I wish we could fight about who cleaned the bathroom or who was cooking dinner. But I knew I was never destined for simple contentment.
I almost committed murder for him. I almost tore us apart to save him. How do you get back on the horse after that? Because, I promise you, nothing is the same. Nothing.
I’ve earned our happily ever after. Now I have to survive it.
You can’t leave me until I destroy you. ... If you destroy me, I’ll never leave.
This is it. For those of you who have read along with the rest of us, this is the end of the story. This is the epilogue to the ups and downs of Johnathan’s relationship with Monica. It is a tale that is emotional, real, and sexy as hell.
We pick up with the two as Johnathan begins to regain his dominance with Monica. He knows that something isn’t quite right, and is determined to fix it. Monica isn’t happy, but is afraid to ask for what she wants and needs. The two are almost in a holding pattern before Jonathan takes action in the only way he can.
I am not going to sit here and give you a blow by blow (yes...I went there), of what happened. What I will tell you is that the author brings it in this book. She gives us the hotness that a reader expects from the series, but she also brings something else. There is real emotion, pain, and fear that I can only say deeply affected me. You see both the softness and the strength of both of these characters as they come to their final bow.
Truthfully, I have mixed feeling about writing this review. It is no because I didn’t love the book or because I didn’t feel that it was the ending that we … I mean the characters deserve. It is because now I will have to say goodbye to Johnathan and Monica until I pick up the series again to reread it.
This is the perfect ending to this series. While I don't want to spoil the book for anyone else, it answered my questions and gave me the ability to look into their future.
I am so happy Jonathan and Monica finally have closure to their happily ever after. I was kind of mad at how it ended in the last book. I waited so long for this and I am satisfied. I finally can give this couple a rest. ❤
