A Coffee Lover's Guide to Victoria

Taking time out for a coffee is a “west coast” activity much like strolling in the winter rain or enjoying the summer morning sea breeze. The city of Victoria has a well established coffee culture where residents can be found anytime of the day hanging out in one of the many boutique coffee shops. Business people meet to discuss deals, students gather to chat and surf the web, and others stop to share local news or plan their next vacation get away. 


There are many different types of coffee shops in Victoria, from those operated by award winning baristas to funky neighbourhood legends to unique bakeries serving scrumptious desserts with a delicious cup of coffee. Victoria is also home to a number of tea houses for individuals that enjoy a cup of “camellia sinensis.”


This interactive eGuide lists over two dozen independently owned and operated coffee shops and tea houses, and speciality bakeries and patisseries. It also includes more than two dozen select tourist sights worth visiting on the way to the next cafe. This interactive eGuide provides users with a unique collection of cultural places to visit and culinary experiences to discover in Victoria.


The location of each tourist sight, coffee and pastry shop, etc., are grouped into five clusters of “neighbourhoods” that make up the inner core of the City of Victoria. Each chapter includes an interactive map highlighting each of the locations. For each location, along with a brief description, there are full colour images, and interactive popovers that provide the address, phone number, and hours of operation, and the website and social media links. A special "Map It!" button allows users to pinpoint the exact location and directions to each place.
