#1, Portland Street Kings

This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.

When I was fourteen years old, I killed for the first time. That day I learned cruelty wasn’t only within the walls we had just escaped.
It hasn’t been easy growing up in the middle of a war. A struggle to find shelter. Fighting to protect our bodies against the corruption of the streets. Nobody cared about the street kids who had to beg and steal to eat.
We are the Portland Street Kings – A family forged through loyalty, not blood. To get through this life of broken dreams alive, we’ve become hard, uncaring and merciless. We do what must be done to keep our family safe, we will harm those who stand against us.
We have it all, feared and respected by those on the streets. Then she collided into my world, and with her came demons from my past, back to haunt us all.

Not worth reading

I had a lot of problems with this book. I'll try to narrow it down
1-poor character development. No depth, no background. There was no way to connect to the characters in any way to even care what happened to them
2-Lack of focus on plot. The author should've either set her focus primarily on the street gang aspect or the Piper/Philip angle. I would've rather read an entire story about Piper/Philip and some kind of stalking/kidnap story line than the bland mash up that the story ended up being
3-banging a guy 2 seconds after you meet with with your head face down in a toilet in a bar men's room....yeah that really sets the mood.
4-I hate matchy character names. Slater, Piper, Pacer...Della, Mia? Seriously? Even their nicknames are matchy...Kel and Dell? Take more time and be more creative.
Do yourself a favor and skip this one

Secrets Reveled & Forever Love

This series starts off with a heartbreaking bang and then takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride. Collision is book 1 in the series and introduces you to the family and all of its members. You can't help but fall in love with everyone.

Family, Courage & Honor is what has kept Slater (26) strong through years of hell and living on the streets. He has made a name for his family and himself, they own Portland Mechanic and are the top family in illegal street racing but, everything he does is for his family and he will stop at nothing to protect them. Piper (23) grew up in a group home and knows about the horror that some children face; she wants to make a difference as a CPS caseworker. Piper is feisty with a heart of gold. Slater & Piper are both dealing with demons from their past, your jaw will drop when things start to unfold.

This was a great kickstart to the series, although Collision is a are left with the bigger story that seems like it will weave throughout the entire series. This novel is faced paced and doesn't slow down...fueled with adrenaline, sexiness & suspense.
