No relationship can be closer than that of a mother and her unborn child – yet the miraculous 9 months of growth inside the womb remain a mystery. Now, powerful medical visualizations illuminate this dark, hidden realm.
What do the developing embryo and fetus look like at 6 days after conception, at 6 weeks, at 6 months? How do intricately complex organs like the eyes form? What does the embryonic heart look like when it starts beating, just 21 days after conception? In vivid, stunning detail, Conception to Birth: The Visual Guide to Your Pregnancy iBook reveals the answers to all these questions and more, tracking the development of a baby from the moment of conception into the explosively complex early stages of development and through the amazing phases of growth, ending with the joy of birth.
Alexander Tsiaras has been a pioneer in developing technologies that allow you to view the most minute parts of the human embryo and fetus from any angle. The rich menu of visualizations includes images, videos, interactive anatomy maps, and interactive images that allow you to reveal successive layers of internal anatomy. Far from simple illustrations, these visualizations have at their core actual data derived from scanning technologies, including microMRI and other imaging techniques. Detailed, thoroughly researched text sheds light on each facet of development, accompanied by useful sections on prenatal testing and pregnancy symptoms for each trimester. Conception to Birth: The Visual Guide to Your Pregnancy provides a fascinating look at the miraculous process of becoming human.
Great material IF you can see it
Not knocking the content of this book at all...but none of the pictures will load! I can see the thumbnails in the table of contents but none of the photos or videos will load on the pages. The thumbnails look great though! Wish I could see the content I paid for!
Wish it allowed 10 stars. Despite not being a woman, I've been fascinated with how a baby develops. It's this fascination that makes me pro-life
Not to good
A lot of good pics not a lot of info
