Book Two in the Consolation Duet
I fell in love with Liam only to be left shattered into a million pieces. Again. The idea of being without him cripples me but the reality is, he’s gone.
He doesn’t understand and I can’t make him.
If only he’d see the conviction behind my words—then he’d still be here.
I'm still swooning for Dreamboat!
The minute I finished Consolation, I jumped right into Conviction. I could not wait to find out what happens between Liam and Natalie. Conviction is the conclusion to this duet and should be read after Consolation.
The book picks up right where the first left off and let's just say the emotions are running extremely high for all the characters. A good portion of the book is bittersweet, as Natalie and Liam adjust and cope with the realities they face. Nothing is easy and there is heartbreak along the way, but I loved that their connection and feelings never faltered. I apologize for the vagueness of this review, but I really don't want to spoil anything for anyone. This is an emotional book that deals with life, death, grief, forgiveness, love, and what it means to be a family. The writing is poignant and moving throughout and will have you crying one minute and laughing the next. Although the duet could have been consolidated into one longer book, I think it was important to give all the relationships time to grow, mature, and heal. I really enjoyed taking this journey with Liam and Natalie and the last part of the book left my heart full and happy. Having Liam's POV for the epilogue was the icing on the cake. He's just as deliciously sexy and hilarious in this book as he was in Consolation. Swoon indeed ;)
I loved this duet and this really was the perfect ending. It's not the true end though, since there is one more book in the series about Mark called Defenseless, and all the characters from the previous books appear. I truly enjoyed this love story and I can't wait to read more books by this author!
An amazing Duet❤️❤️
Corrine Michaels does it again, the ups and downs, the sadness, the humor(Mark's humor thru the book is so good!)
I downloaded this after finishing Beloved and Beholden, also excellent books, emotionally my heart knew it wasn't ready to read Natalie's story...now that I've finished this Duet AND the Bonus Scene WOW just WOW Corrine, absolutely love Liam. Looking forward to reading Mark and Quinn's stories. Great job, you are one of my favorite authors😘🙏🏻💕
I actually really liked this story. Yes, it was predictable, and the characters a little over the top, but I enjoyed it. I went and read books 1 & 2, and although I finished book 2, I gave that one a whopping 2 stars. Also left a review.
What I really like about these is the friendly banter between the characters when they got together. Mark, Jackson, Liam, etc. There were parts that made me laugh and smile, which doesn’t happen often when I read. I real a lot of free books because I’m always in and out of airports for work, and so most of the time they are cringeworthy or poorly written.
Book 3 started off hitting a little too close to home (military growing up, and married into it), but the transformation from Aaron being a stand up guy, to the *@&# side that he hid, I didn’t feel bad for him.
My main dislike for this story is the baby’s name. Aarabelle?? Really?? I get where the author was going, but no. Just no. That, and pregnancies, what new couple is seriously excited to find out that they are pregnant when their relationship is still in the honeymoon phase or when it is unstable?? That’s a hard pass from me.
