She is the greatest assassin her world has ever known.
But does she have the heart of a killer?
After a year of hard labor in the Salt Mines of Endovier, eighteen-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien has won the king's contest to become the new royal assassin. But Calaena is far from loyal to the crown. Keeping up the charade - while pretending to do the king's bidding - will test her skills in an entirely new way. And it certainly isn't the only point of confusion for the young girl. Because though she's made her choice between Dorian and Chaol, the ways of the heart are never simple...
Predictable and Dull
Did you enjoy ASOIAF? What about Mistborn? Malazan book of the fallen? Then this book is NOT for you.
Characters are one dimensional, the world building is stagnate if barely existent, and reveals that were hinted at in the first book were so glaringly obvious that you'd have to be blind or dumb not to have already realized them.
This book is not for high fantasy fans that enjoy a complex narrative with interesting characters. Rather its for people who want to be spoonfed there stories.
Better than the first!
Really loved this sequel. Much more assassin action in this one. And Chaol action ;)
Basically a romance novel
I loved the book and the previous one before it, but the author is really laying the drama and romance on really thick. Good story, but too much of a love story for my taste.
