Daron's Guitar Chronicles: Volume One
Daron's Guitar Chronicles - Daron's Guitar Chronicles, no. 1
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
Volume One of Daron's Guitar Chronicles begins when Daron finds himself at a bar in Providence, filling in for the regular guitarist in a hair metal cover band. He's not thrilled about it, but a gig's a gig. He's too young to drink and trying not to think about how his scholarship money has run out. He'll need to figure out a way to make a living, much less stay in music school. Everything changes, though, when his former mentor walks into the bar.

"For me, Daron is one of those rare fictional characters that I have a hard time believing does not actually exist on the physical plane. He is just too real. Part of it is that Daron is only a couple of years older than me and the way the 80s are brought to life here reminds me very much of my own coming of age: the musical references, the language, the AIDS scare, the technology, the hair...Most of all, though, it is the fact that Daron is an extremely well written character. He grows and changes and engages."

Great beginning to a fantastic story
I cannot say enough about how fantastic these books are. This one started off a little slow, but once it got going it did not disappoint. This entire series is a must read. I've grown to really love and care about all the characters in this book. Give this series a chance, you'll be very happy!
A story without a plot or ending
I was extremely disappointed to read this only to find it didn't have a plot or ending. It just stops with no conclusion. Well it continues in volumes two and three but to read those it costs five to six dollars for each book depending on the ebook vendor.
I decided I was not going to waste time or spend the money on the second and third volumes in case the story continued to go meaninglessly nowhere.
This is a really enjoyable series of books and the first one lays the groundwork for all that's yet to come. It's designed to play out over the entire series, so sit back and enjoy the ride. The one star reviews of this book unfarily ding it for exactly the traits that make it a great read.
