This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
When tragedy strikes, Laurel finds her life at a crossroads. Does she try to piece together the remnants of her once-perfect marriage to Jack? Or does she take a chance on creating something new and beautiful with ex-soldier Isaac?
A hard-hitting, emotional new series from USA Today bestselling author Cassia Leo.
Jack and I had everything. Then, in one brutal instant, the universe tilted on its side, discarding us into black nothingness.
Now, I have a cocky a**hole for a husband.
The only way we communicate anymore is when we’re fighting or f**king.
With nothing left to lose, I write Jack a goodbye letter and head for Portland, where I quickly meet a neighbor who helps me find a job.
My new neighbor—hot, tattooed ex-soldier Isaac Evans—is complicated. Nevertheless, we form a fast friendship, bonding over our mutual desire to create something beautiful from the wreckage of our lives.
But despite the distance between us, Jack and I are still trying to make things work—fighting and f**king dirtier than ever. And he doesn’t appreciate my new friendship with Isaac. Not one f**king bit.

Can love last
Holy sh*t!! Just like every other book Cassia has written I was hooked and it was hard to put down and deal with real life stuff but I managed 😉
Jack and Laurel - have a forever kind of love, the bond seems to be unbreakable but when you experience tragedy even the strongest relationships can be broken. They love each other but I don’t know if love is enough....I hoping though!!
Isaac and Laurel - they start out as friends but there’s a bond there, they take care of each other and help each other through some rough times. I love Isaac!
Dylan - I love this character!! He’s the best friend type and I can’t wait to see where things go with him!
Yes there’s a cliff hanger....it’s Book one of a trilogy! But the story and the characters are so worth every minute!! The ended is such a cliffhanger that I can’t wait for Book 2!!!!!!
Amazingly Good! Must Read!
Holy S***!!! Dirt was SO good! The author grabbed my attention on page one and held it fiercely until the very end! Dirt is a story of a married couple, Jack and Laurel who are deeply in love and are living a wonderful life together. Until tragedy strikes and they are left not knowing how to go on with their lives. Jack is obsessed with trying to find out who caused the tragedy and Laurel is just depressed and feels so alone. They are no longer that happy couple. The book is told in both of their POV’s (and a few chapters in Issac’s, the neighbor) I totally understood why Jack was behaving the way he was and why Laurel behaved the way she did. Issac is Laurels new neighbor and they have become friends. He is former military and estranged from his family. He and Laurel had a lot in common and I understood why they bonded the way the did. However, I’m not really sure what role he will play in the future. The book ended in an unforeseen cliffhanger. I was dumbfounded! But I’m not upset, I think it was brilliant on the authors part. I spent a few days thinking about this series. I thought back about the things I had read and I was trying to figure out where I thought the story was gonna go in the next two books. I absolutely loved this book and I’ll be anxiously awaiting book two the series. Good Job Ms. Leo!
Wow! Excellent punch at the end!
So... I’m still feeling shocked by the last few chapters!! I want the next book!
It’s hard to say much without spoilers.
Jack and Laurel are falling apart after tragedy. Understandable. I went back and forth about how I felt about them as a couple.
Jack isn’t my favorite but there are moments when I felt for him and understood his actions. Some of his behavior/tactics made him a bit of a jerk( in my opinion)
Isaac is likable I hope we get to know him better in the next book. I don’t feel like I got enough of him. But this is the first of a series so understandable.
Likable secondary characters, the pace isn’t fast more at a speed where you’re experiencing everything with them.
Huge Bam!! moments at the end!!
Really good start to a series,I can’t wait to read the next one!!
