Discover Early Music (Enhanced Edition)
This book is available for download with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device, and with iTunes on your computer. Books can be read with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
The Middle Ages began with the collapse of the Roman world. This left a military and political system in ruins – but a cultural world-view largely intact. Artistically rich and varied in themselves, the medieval centuries also sparked both the artistic Renaissance and the religious Reformation that followed. Rich – but musically lost? Buildings and statues endure, but how can we ever really know about early music and what the Medieval and Renaissance world sounded like? From the evidence that remains, modern performers have embarked on the great adventure of rediscovering, recreating and reinventing some of the earliest surviving music of Europe – with prolific and fascinating results. This e-book comes with 2½Ω hours of music from the Medieval and Renaissance eras.
This book is a survey, quite sketchy, of early music. It is supposed to be enhanced, and the author even makes reference to what surely were supposed to have been recordings. There were no recordings, but only a bare 79 pages of text.
Discover Early Music (Enhanced Edition?)
This book was a disappointment. No illustrations and no music. What is "Enhanced" about this edition? It claims to have two and a half hours of music. However, there is no music. The other books in the series have music.
