Do Tell!

Stories By Atheists and Agnostics in AA

This book is available for download with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device, and with iTunes on your computer. Books can be read with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

This book contains thirty stories – an equal number by women and men – by atheists and agnostics who tell us “what it was like, what happened and what it’s like now” as they made their way to a life of long-term sobriety within the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous. Storytelling is the essence of AA. It is in sharing our “experience, strength and hope” in recovery that we are able to help others within our Fellowship. The diversity and richness of the stories contained in Do Tell! will no doubt be an inspiration and provide important support to nonbelievers within the often overly-religious fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous.

A must for agnostics & atheists !~!~!

This fascinating collection of 30 stories by sober agnostics and atheists in AA — along with the Introduction by the editor, Roger C. and the foreward by Marya Hornbacher — is a must read for those seeking secular recovery in AA. It demonstrates the essential process of the human power of AA members to help each other stay sober by sharing their stories of experience, strength and hope with each other. It shows that anyone who has a desire to stop drinking can get and stay sober in AA without having to adopt anyone else’s beliefs or dogma. This book is a boon, a must read and, possibly, a life-saver, for those who come to AA and are dismayed by the “God-bit”, as Jim Burwell, one of the earliest atheist members of AA, described it, who died sober after 34 years in AA as an atheist.
