For some reason (maybe it was the tag line "goes beyond purees") I thought this book didn't have those labor intensive purees of her first book. But, unfortunately, they do. The food purees make an recipe extra difficult. I wouldn't have bought the book had I known about the purees.
Other than that, the recipes look good. I may try a couple on a week-end when I don't have to work.
I downloaded this book while watching her cook a few recipes on Oprah and thought hey those look pretty simple and tasty. Imagine my surprise when not one of the recipes from the show was in this cookbook nor did any of the recipes from the show call for purée. So, don't be mislead by the title of the recipes when you download the sample book before buying because it never actually let's you read any of the ingredients therefore you never realize you have to go through the hassle of creating a purée for each and every recipe in the cookbook. Had I know this in advance I would never have purchased it.
I guess if you have children and want to trick them into eating their vegetables this is the cookbook for you, on the other hand would a working mother have or want to spend the extra time to prepare the purée?
I have tried 4 recipes so far and they have all been a hit. Relating to the purees...I either use baby food or leave them out.
