Dreams of Lilacs
Book 11, de Piaget Family
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
Isabelle de Piaget is determined to elude her overprotective family by means of a hasty escape to France. But instead of making a surprise visit to her brother there, she winds up shipwrecked on the French coast with no memory of who she is or how she came to awaken in the dark and forbidding castle of an equally brooding lord.
Gervase de Seger rescues—very reluctantly—the bedraggled urchin he finds on the road and puts her to work where he can ignore her. Unfortunately, he soon realizes that her brother is an intimidating lord who is going to be absolutely furious when he learns that his beloved sister has been laboring as a scullery maid. Yet Isabelle may be the one who holds the key to solving Gervase’s most pressing problem: that someone has been trying to finish the task of separating him from his title and his lands.
Finding the truth propels Gervase and Isabelle from the buried secrets of half-ruined keeps to the glittering French court, and to the realization that love can blossom in the most perilous circumstances—and in the most unexpected places of the heart . . .
Don't expect to sleep, til the book is done
While the time travel I love in Ms.Kurland's stories isn't present, I still couldn't put this down til I was done with it. I won't give spoilers, but questions I've had, and probably many readers as well, who have read this series from the start, were finally answered, and answered humorously.
I love that we finally got to see the youngest daughter show her spunk and distinctive personality, and think her mate was perfectly matched. Loved seeing some of the old characters again. And I know I can't be the only one who , though I adore the character, waited, and waited and will have to wait for another book to see Robin knocked completely on his charming arrogant arse.
If you love Kurland's previous works, you'll enjoy this. Some parts were quite predictable, but any book that can set me off laughing so hard my gut hurts, is a winner in my eyes.
Thank you Ms. Kurland for again bringing us to the magical world you created, and please, don't wait so long before you put out another.
I do love romantic stories. Lynn Kurland is a master writer of romantic stories. Some involve time travel but this book does not. This is a story about Rhys youngest daughter and the mystery surrounding her , her family and Gervase and his family. Lots of action, romance and good humor! I recommend this book and the rest of the dePiaget stories!
