EMPIRE is the final book in The Elite Forces Series. It is recommended to read books 1-4 before attempting to read this
We are hated.
Our Empire is crumbling right before my eyes. No one can be trusted for reasons that are consuming me, controlling me and ripping me away from my family.
This new family who has taken over the streets of New York has taken someone away from us. We will not let them take anymore. The only way to stop them is to sacrifice one of us.
*Recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to graphic violence, explicit language, and sexual situations.
Empire by Kathy Coopmans was fantastic. I loved having all the different POV’s throughout the book. You get some of everyone although it centers around Roan and Calla. This book was so emotional and kept me wanting more yet not wanting it to end. You could literally feel the angst coming off the pages from the betrayal and deceit. I was angry and my heart broke for all the heartache and pain this family went through. Seeing these hardened mafia men cry almost did me in! Talk about big lovable softies when it comes to their families, except when you cross them. Get ready to face the wrath. I fell so hard for Cain in The Wrath of Cain, but OMG I absolutely melted in this book. This one quote completely did me in. “Christ. I love you so much. Don’t go anywhere, Calla. Never leave me. I swear to God as my witness, I won’t survive without you.” Another thing I loved was the strength and determination of the women. Calla is one tough cookie that proved she will do whatever it takes to take care of her family. You must read this book. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.
I predict there's a best seller in Kathy Coopmans future!
*I received an ARC in exchange for an HONEST opinion*
I'm finding it hard to write this review, not because I hated it.... On the contrary, I LOVED it; but because I'm at a loss for words. I can't seem to find the right words to explain all of the emotions I felt with this book.
While I read this one first, I suggest reading the first four in the series first. I liked that we were given POV's from both Calla and Roan. I was initially a little confused on their plan to take down the man who killed their loved way.
I predict this will be a bestseller for Kathy Coopmans. I'm NOT ready for this series to be over! If you haven't read/started this series yet, you really should.
