When the author embarked on an extended vacation to Great Britain she promised to share her experiences with friends and family by posting photographs online. Moved by the beauty of the countries she visited and the richness of her experiences, she began to share her adventures through the written word as well. Her blogs soon gathered a captivated following, and so the seeds for her two books were sown: Scotland at the speed of life, published in August 2014, and its sequel, England and Wales at the speed of life.
Initially conceived as a short, literature-inspired tour, Ms. Rothstein’s itinerary evolved into a three-month adventure of a lifetime. To her surprise and delight, the extended duration allowed for a deeper experience gained by slowing her pace and taking the time to let life happen. The author shares, vividly and humorously, accounts of the places she and her husband visited on their travels. The inspiration she draws from her journey—as well as the breathtaking photographs—will motivate others to follow in her path. She also offers a thoughtful and practical guide to planning and organizing an extended trip, from how to set up an itinerary to packing a three-month wardrobe in a single suitcase.
Traveling at the speed of everyday life, Ms. Rothstein accomplishes something we all desire, but rarely achieve while on the road—making ourselves at home.
Cynthia Fletcher Rothstein was born in Portland, Maine, but set off on her first foreign adventure at the age of two months. She has lived in eight countries on three continents, and visited countless others. Another great book - like you were there with the author
Another great ebook by Ms Rothstein. Her stories are related as if you are traveling with her and she describes sites, people, culture, history, and things to do. Her first hand observations and perspectives cover much of England and Wales with regard to the people, culture and history. Again convenient hyperlinks to other related entries, related literature. An interactive map, with GoogleMaps, to help one plan their own trip or see other related info from the internet (when connected to wifi). Plus the author adds lots of extremely comprehensive advice for any travelers - either for extended, slow travel, or for quick trips in her toolkit.
