The next book in the international bestselling Eagle Elite Series. Complete Stand Alone.
Part of a world I loathe.
Part of a family who hates me more than I hate myself.
Living with a girl who reminds me of my darkness.
I'm. In. Hell.
Also known as the Cosa Nostra.
I wish I would have known--that my life was over the minute I stepped off the plane.
Son to a murdered mob boss.
Heir to a throne of murder and lies.
My name is Dante Nicolasi.
And there will be blood.
Enrage is the eighth book in the Eagle Elite series. It's also the first one I have read so I can agree that it can be read as a standalone. You don't need to read the previous books to feel the trust, pain, respect, and love between the family members. But I will warn you...you will want their full stories! I know I do and one day I will get them but for now, this is Dante's story.
Six months ago Dante walked into this life. A mob life. With a family full of bosses. And also living with a girl that he shouldn't want. He was in Hell. A prison. Before he could be fully emerged into this life he needs to prove his loyalty. To do that he has fight. He has to win. He has to spill blood. Train day in and day out. This is not just physical but mental. Train to be ruthless for the times you can not hesitate or die yourself. Yes. It was hell but it was his new reality. It was in his blood.
I can't really get into the storyline. I do not want to spoil anything. So I will say that the story is addicting! Once I started, I didn't want to put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next. I now know why my blog partner, Kara is obsessed with this series. These characters. They are protective, ruthless, and f- hot! Dante is only twenty but he is not a kid. He is all man. A sinfully sexy man. And El is one of the strongest characters I have ever read. She has a painful past that wouldn't have killed many.
Overall...Wow! It's one addicting, cringeworthy, and sexy story! I know I wouldn't want to f- with any one of these characters!
“Can’t you beat the s- out of someone else?”
“Nope, you’re my new favorite.”
“Glad you see it my way.”
“This isn’t a fairy tale, and if it was, I sure as hell wouldn’t be the prince.”
“Whoa!” I caught them with one hand. “One doesn’t just toss a bag of Oreos, El, they’re delicate.”

I haven't read a book like this in a long time. It made my heart both happy and yet so sad. I'm happy for El and Dante for trusting each other enough to bear their souls to find the love that so many seek, but never find. And so sad for Chase and Mil and the future that wasn't meant to be. It was so hard reading to the end, not because it wasn't a great book because it was so much more than great. I have come to love these brash, impulsive, cruel, beautiful, fierce and loyal characters and to have them go through the things they do makes it so difficult when really bad things happen to them. The pain you feel seems real enough that they could be your real life loved ones. I came to love El and Dante just as much as the others. Family means so much to them. Blood in no out. I think this is the first time I bawled my eyes out reading a book from this author and I am so excited and a bit nervous to see what's to come. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Chris comes over for dinner and what happens during and after. To funny.
What can I say about this amazing book? While this could be a standalone I do HIGHLY recommend reading the others first, each book just adds to the large and detailed mob-centric world Rachel has created. If you go into this as a standalone there will be spoilers of previous books. You’ve been warned.
I desperately want to talk about parts of the plot of this book . . . but I can’t and it’s killing me. I want to rant, I want to rave, and mostly I want to come up with a million different conspiracy theories that would have you realizing just how crazy I am. But to do that I would have to give too much away. So, sadly, I can’t. But let me tell you how this book made me feel. I was delighted by the connection I felt between Dante and El. Pain, I felt so much pain for the h*** El has been through and the internal struggles Dante is constantly living with. Heat, wow were they how, enough said. Delight, when they finally realized what we all knew and stopped avoiding the unavoidable. Surprise, you’ll see. Anticipation and hope because Rachel has never let me down.
Now, I am fully aware that out of context none of that makes a d*** bit of sense but just trust that Rachel Van Dyken is a phenomenal writer and she won’t let you down.
