If you like cycle touring without a lot of unnecessary baggage, then this book will be an invaluable resource. It covers everything from trip planning, bike types, camping options, equipment/maintenance, tech apps, etc. The author has done an enormous amount of research, and organized it in an easily accessible format...and very portable! There are even sample tours to wet your appetite. If you are planning a trip to Europe (or even the US) then this is the book for you. Buy this book!
Lite Cycle Touring in Europe
Recently I was in the process of exploring cycle touring venues in Europe when I came across and downloaded this eBook. I was struck first by the gorgeous photos depicting the author and friends cycling in a variety of countries and types of terrains. When I dug in more deeply I found a wealth of useful information such as how to secure clean, but modest accomodations, how to select and pack gear without overloading, how to use handheld and tablet devices to access maps and bicycle routes while cycling, and how to perform essential maintenance. This is not simply an electronic rendering of a printed book, but an interactive resource where maps can be expanded and browsed, where movies can be viewed instantly, and useful websites can be accessed directly. Highly Recommended.
