Fear the Dark

Book 4, A Bishop/SCU Novel - A Bishop/Special Crimes Unit Novel

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Description

In New York Times bestselling author Kay Hooper’s new novel, an SCU team investigates a troubling string of disappearances. But how do you find someone who has vanished without a trace?

Something strange is happening in the small mountain town of Serenity, Tennessee. People going on routine errands never reach their destination. It’s as if they simply disappear. Over the past few weeks, it’s happened to five men and women—and now a child.

The local police chief calls the FBI, and a team from the Special Crimes Unit is immediately sent in. Agents Lucas and Samantha Jordan, partners in work and in life, have very different abilities. Samantha is clairvoyant and Lucas possesses a unique ability to find the lost or abducted. With them are new partners Dante Swann, a medium, and Robbie Hodge, a telepath.

The town is already on the edge of panic, but the mysterious events take a sinister turn when a body unrelated to the missing persons case surfaces and one of the SCU agents vanishes. Now, the team’s hunt for the lost has turned into something very personal…and very dangerous.

From Publishers Weekly

Dec 07, 2015 – Bestseller Hooper's solid 16th Bishop/Special Crimes Unit paranormal mystery (after 2014's Haunted) takes an FBI team veteran agents Lucas and Samantha Jordan, plus new agents Robbie Hodge and Dante Shaw to Serenity, Tenn. The little town's police chief, Jonah Riggs, is struggling to cope with six disappearances in one month, each accompanied by inexplicable oddities such as no trace evidence at all. The victims include a respected judge, a 10-year-old girl, a car salesman, and a couple who were eloping. The agents use their psychic powers to pick up clues from the crime scenes, including "residual energy" from a bad person. When someone slashes the throat of one of Jonah's officers, the uneasy citizens of Serenity start to panic. Hooper handles the team's paranormal abilities easily and naturally as the agents do battle with someone as unusual as themselves. Those new to the series will welcome the glossaries of agent bios and psychic terms.

Customer Reviews

Fear the Dark by Kay Hooper

Good story but way too short. Could spend some time fleshing out the characters. Also, you could have a secondary story going at the same time. Just some thoughts. Novels should never be less than 600 pages.

Great

I really hate it when a good book ends! Waiting for the next one in this series!
