Review: Nucci Securities #1: Finding Us
Finding Us by Debra Presley is the first book in her Nucci Securities series AND is her debut novel. Well Done! A story that flows well from first page to last with a great deal of humor and tension interspersed throughout. This will leave you wanting to keep reading, regardless of what is happening around you.
Abby is a famous Pop Star with a famous boyfriend and a toxic mother. It's no surprise that she is betrayed by them both - but as a not-famous person it was refreshing to view the world from Abby's perspective. You would think being famous she could do whatever she wants, but no, she is more limited in her choices and has very few people that she can truly trust. Her bodyguard Danny is one of those trustworthy people.
Danny has a job to protect Abby. Usually from crazed fans and the paparazzi, but now also from her scheming ex and mother. It isn't hard to see that these two have feelings for each other but is heartwarming (and frustrating) to see just how hard they try to keep their friendship intact, worrying that a relationship would ruin that.
Told from both POV's and has an ending that won't leave you dangling off a cliff (figuratively OR literally, LOL)!
