Waste of money, and an absolutely appalling story

Where do I begin? I suppose the book tumbled downhill from the beginning. This book is a sick and a try-hard version of “these olde shades” ( written by the estimable Georgette Heyer) except it was lacking the great storyline and the fantastic characters. Also because the author did not bother to put a certain warning in her book. I shall do it for her: WARNING: the story has sexual assault and at least one actual RAPE scene- and what’s worse; the readers are supposed to take it as a passionate love scene.(mind you it was between a piss drunk man that’s nearly forty and a 17 yr old girl who is already pregnant with a child of rape) he actually holds her down with his body and rapes her while she is crying and asking him to stop. And the readers are supposed to actually enjoy this absolute farce of a story.
Meagan (the mc) is 17 with the brain of a ten year old but the reader is supposed to look over that because she was “neglected” all her life. As much as she positively got on my nerves I actually felt sorry for her. She was an idiot and the world is not kind to idiots;so she got taken advantage of by her 40 yr old guardian ,Justin.

Justin, a man so positively childish and near the age of forty, who positively disturbs me to no end. He allows his ward to sleep in his bed and then he takes advantage of her by not being a man and making her leave his room. He has sex with her before two disgusting scenes of him groping her. SPOILER I forgot to mention that he does not tell her that he was married- so just Incase this sexual assault scandal ever leaks , he can’t even marry her and allow her to raise her child without difficulties. And I’m going to shatter your imagination right here and tell you his reasons of justification of his selfish disgusting ways: his wife never loved him and didn’t want to have sex all the time , so he will train a child who knows nothing of sex to satisfy his sexual appetites. That’s it I can’t rant anymore: I Just wish I could get my money back - the story wasn’t worth my money and the characters were disgusting

The helpless women

I do not care for the helpless women characters. He rapes her, slaps here then cause the death of her baby but she is being selfish.

I found this novel disturbing.

It made me cry..

Read this like ten years ago... Always love the story... It cute and sad a the same time...
