Book 2, Opposites Attract
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Maya Goodwin doesn't believe in holding back. Ever. As a cop, she never hesitated to throw herself into harm's way to save someone. Even after an injury on the job forces her to retire, she's not afraid to keep risking it all to get the life she wants. With a new career teaching martial arts to kids already underway, she's looking forward to the future - and taking a chance on the unbelievably hot Dr. Alex Nolan.
Maya - daring and spontaneous - is the exact opposite of what Alex always thought he wanted. But when a nine-year-old daughter he never knew existed shows up on his doorstep, Maya is the one who helps them hold it together. With love on the line, will the guy who's always played it safe be willing to take the biggest risk of all?
A fun, well written emotional read!!
Ever sit down, get drawn in to a book, and 4 hours later realize that you've finished the book, have had emotions varying between wanting to throw your kindle across the room and ugly crying, only to realize the world has stopped, while your emotions are completely spent?? That is what book does!! (In the very best ways possible) But most of all, this was a fun read.
Maya is seriously my hero. She's strong, and she doesn't let anything stop her from having fun. She's pretty much Alex's complete opposite, which makes them mesh together so well. He sort of grounds her, while she opens his eyes to what he's missing out on. Add in a Maya mini-me, friends that stand by you and are willing to push back when you've pushed too far, and an awesome mama who you could picture as a best friend, and you've got the perfect read.
Erin Nicholas brings to light a disease you rarely hear about, and shows us how one who has it deals with it.
This is definitely a must read!!
An emotional story!!!
This is book 2 in the Opposites Attract series and it features Dr. Alex Nolan and Maya Goodwin. First let me say that these two are COMPLETE opposites. She's an "all in" kind of woman and he's a "stop and think" kind of man. I adored the romance and as long as they kept to the superhero/fantasy stuff, they were good. For Alex, trying to lead two different lives was a train wreck waiting to happen and I didn't like how he ultimately treated Maya. No pun intended but she got the short end of the stick and forgave WAY too easy. I just want to say that Maya is such an upbeat person that when she was sad, it actually brought tears to my eyes.
I think this author dealt with hemophilia brilliantly! At certain points I think I was more involved in the medical condition than the romance. Fantastic story!
Letting yourself go
I have found in life you make more connections by sharing something of yourself than you do by becoming an expert in the field. The shared experiences strengthen bonds. Alex Nolan learns this the hard way in Erin Nicolas’s new Opposites Attract novel Forever Mine. Alex is the foremost expert in his field, what he doesn’t tell anyone is that he shares the condition he fights so hard to understand. By opening himself up to sharing that information with others his life becomes richer and far more interesting. Maya is an important part of helping him to open up. She lives life to the fullest, even when it causes her pain. Together these two figure out that sometimes what you think is the answer isn’t.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
