From international bestselling author Monica James.
My name is Lucy Tucker, and my life…it was perfect.
I worked the dream job. I had the most incredible family and friends. My home, Whispering Willows, a ranch in Montana, was everything I could ever wish for. My adoring fiancé, Samuel Stone, loved me unconditionally.
I had everything a girl could ever want.
But one fateful event shattered my perfect life. It’s unimaginable how simple, ordinary words can change a person’s life forever. For me those words were, “There’s been an accident.”
I thought Sam was my forever, but that forever came to a close the day Saxon Stone, Sam’s identical twin brother, came back. Saxon returned to Montana to help save Sam, however, the moment he entered my life, he turned my world upside down. But through chaos I somehow found clarity—clarity of who I was meant to be.
As time progressed, as seasons changed, and as a fire began to burn, I soon realized that Saxon was there for another reason…he was there to help save me.
One of my favorites of 2017!
Forgetting You, Forgetting Me is one amazing rollercoaster ride. I have only read one other book by Monica and I loved it but this one is different. It's more emotional, addicting, and everything I could ever want when looking for a good cry. I don't want to spoil anything and the synopsis says enough.
Lucy and Sam had it all. High school sweethearts. Soul mates. Passion for their jobs. A passion for life. Then it all changed with just a few words...there has been an accident. Now they have to fight for what they had. They have to be saved. That was when Sam's twin brother Saxon makes an appearance. He wasn't exactly welcomed but needed. Lucy is grateful but they didn't have the best relationship throughout the years. Saxon always looked like he wanted her gone. She doesn't know why he left home at 18. Why his brother and family just let him go. But while he was here, she was going to find out. If he could save Sam, she was going to do it. In the process, it could save her too. What is the piece of the puzzle is she missing?
Ok. That's it. I will say that I was f- addicted to this story from the very first page until the very last. I didn't want to stop reading. I read while I ate. I am not a night reader but I stayed up and read. I had to know what was going to happen next. These characters made a way into my heart. I am pretty sure I dreamed about them last night. Seriously...it was like crack. My emotions were all over the place. I wanted to throat punch someone one minute then cry for another within a minute. I cried. Cringed. Felt angry. Felt sadness. Felt confused. Heartbroken. It gave me all the feels.
Overall...it's a story about love, friendship, family, finding yourself and accepting that nobody is perfect. It's one of the best books I have read this year. One of my few book hangovers for the year. Thank you Monica for this magnificent story! And I will pray that it won't take you long to write your next book.
P.S I just read my highlighted quotes and crying! 😭
“You heard me. Get out! And take your memories with you.” Please, somebody, pinch me and wake me from this nightmare.
“You’re a brave, strong woman, Lucy Tucker. Don’t ever forget it.”
“Are you playing hide and seek? ’Cause if you are, you really need to find a better hiding spot.”
exhilarated by the sheer force of it!
First, thank you Monica James for this emotional roller coaster! I have read a lot of books this year, but this one will stay with me for a long, long time, much like your "Something Like Normal" series. I'm still trying to catch my breath, even after finishing it a few days ago!! Ms. James writes this book so it grabs you like a rip current--drags you away from the safety of the shoreline, only letting up when you accept what's going on and try to swim through it, not against it, hoping it will pass but exhilarated by the sheer force of it.
Did you ever wonder if you're with the wrong guy? Everything Lucy thought she knew comes into question after her groom Samuel is left with no memory of her after an accident. They were perfect together and now Lucy is left fighting to get the man she loves back, and remind him of all he has forgotten. She hopes their friends and family can help, even his estranged twin brother Saxon. As usual Ms. James rips your heart out and shreds it as you watch Lucy lose faith in herself, and the life she thought she had, while Samuel turns into someone she doesn't even know anymore. Can she get him back? Does she really even want to? What secret is hiding in his heart, and the heart of Saxon? Do not hesitate, this is a "must read"!!
