A grieving widower. A strong lady. And a little girl who needs them both.
After losing his wife in an accident, GRAHAM ASTOR, DUKE OF KENSINGTON, decides that love is not worth the risk of having his heart broken all over again. Even his little daughter he keeps at a distance, afraid to hurt her with the darkness that now lives in his heart. Since he is unable to be the father she deserves, he vows to find her a mother who will heal her little heart.
At a garden party, Graham spots a young woman with a shy smile tending lovingly to her little cousins…and he knows his duty.
As the black sheep of her family, ROSABEL LANDER has no illusions about love. After her parents’ deaths, her aunt and uncle reluctantly took her in, demanding nothing short of complete obedience. Unable to live down her past, Rosabel only wishes for one thing: freedom.
However, before she dares to take the first step toward an independent future, a cold-hearted stranger asks for her hand in marriage…and as the obedient niece, Rosabel cannot refuse.
Will Rosabel find love after all? Or will the memory of Graham's late wife keep them both from finding happiness?
This Beauty and the Beast story by a USA TODAY bestselling author proves that the past can never be forgotten, but its regrets can be forgiven.

It was a good book. However, it felt a little long and repetetive at times. I also found several grammatical errors. Overall a good read.
Forgotten & Remembered
How grateful am I that I didn’t pay any heed to the negative reviews of this novel. Yes, there were grammatical errors, as well as typos, to be sure. Fortunately, I decided to see just what this book, and this author, had to offer. I’m quite glad that I did.
Reading the young life of the heroine rang so true to what I know of similar circumstances of someone dear to me. Bree was able to lovingly weave Rosabel’s past with her present, especially as to how it affected Lady Georgiana personally. In regard to the Duke of Kensington having lost his first wife, many of us personally live with the regrets of having lost a spouse. I cannot help but feel that the author has either encountered one or both of the situations, or is extremely close to others who have.
I was elated to see that the author actually used the British spelling for most of the words required! That is something definitely lacking in most other historical romance novels.
Certain paragraphs which should have been set apart (but were not), seeing as they belonged to different scenes is always a great disappointment to me.
I enjoyed the way the author was able to set up many scenes in order to bring them to life for the reader. Her story unraveled seamlessly, which provided more interest to the reader. I was disappointed that certain characters important to the storyline we’re not kept throughout. All in all, my recommendation to this writer is that she hire a good editor so that he/she can perform his/her magic before publishing future novels.
Loved the story. Loved her persistence.
