Six Months after the Apocalypse…
Adrian will soon discover if the choices he’s made have cost him a son. Even Angela can’t be sure. Neither can the others like her. The powers of the descendants are growing, and so is Safe Haven's awareness of having magic in their midst. Angela is no longer the only seer in Adrian’s camp of survivors…if she ever was.
The Aftermath of a Nuclear War
Now on the way to Arkansas, these battered refugees will face a more dangerous threat than even the slavers. Furious at the latest bloodshed between lawless groups of humanity, Mother Nature has declared her own war, repeatedly unleashing her fury against all survivors. The apocalypse has never been more lethal as the aftermath of a nuclear confrontation continues to take its toll on what remains of the great American herd.

I started these books at the beginning of summer. I just completed the 5th book and ready for more! :) they are great, slow start on the 1st book but once your in...your captivated. The people will come to feel very real to you.
Not as good as the rest
This book felt more like a lusty romance than a gritty survival story. There was just too much of the book dedicated to who wants to sleep with who, instead of the great story that was in the previous books. I have really enjoyed this series overall and love the trouble and adventures the characters get in. Some of the writing gets confusing and is hard to tell what is going on, like the author is all over the place. Wish the narration was a little clearer and better thought out.
Loved the previous books in the series. There was just something 'off' about this in comparison to the others. Too rushed, too enigmatic, too many places that don't track. Overall much frustration came from this read, which I had, unfortunately been eagerly awaiting. Such a shame.
